I know this exists but cant remember where I saw it or the brand.

I need a case that has a changeable back panel that will work with an old 486 MB (at) now and later with a new ATX style.

Ill put this in cases and cooling also but usually get a better response here.

Thanks

Just find an ATX case that has mounts for an AT motherboard. AT motherboards don't need custom backplates 'cause there's nothing that's mounted on the motherboard. The only thing you might want would be a backplate with no openings at all, but that's not necessary.

Good thought, Viper, thanks but would really like this other case as Im sure my friend will update soon and why buy twice? (know I wouldnt have to with your suggestion) Think it was a good brand name like antec, Iwin or Enlight. Just cant remember.

Umm, you won't have to buy twice?

Many ATX cases have screw mounts for both AT AND ATX cases, & many power supplies have both AT and ATX connectors. That way you can drop either an AT or an ATX motherboard in, with no problems either way. And come to think of it, I believe the ones that are that way come with a cover to hide the ATX backplate when you're not using an ATX motherboard.
