I guess you can call me a n00b...I need help OCing this thing. I dont need or want insane OC levels...and Id rather not mess with voltages to much...cause this system does need to last a really long time. A 25% OC would be nice...30-40% would be awesome. So like 2500-2700MHz from my stock 2000MHz.

Thats part of why i got the DDR500...that should allow me to hit 2500MHz pretty simply. Ill just need to OC the CPU and thats it. Though I am wondering how the hell I set the CAS settings for my RAM? Its supposed to be like 3-4-4-8 or something...and it says its running at like 3-4-10-4 or something retarded. I cant seem to find anything in the bios to let me change this...well there is one setting for cas but it only changes the first number...how do I change the rest? I looked at the bios options and was like WTF?. Theres some junk in there that I dont know. Like the Hammer FID and VID...what the hell is that (and those weird TRS TCS thingies in the RAM settings area...with like 1-15T options)?

Really where do I start with this thing? I see where I can set the multiplier and the HTT as well as where I can set the RAM speed...but I dunno what I should do. I dont want to just start increasing numbers. I dont really need a detailed super noob post, Ive got a general idea of how things work...just sort of a guide...like first set this thingie to that, then change this to that, and then slowly increase this, test every x times. Ive used CPU-Z Prime 95 3DMark for testing purposes not an expert with em, but I have a decent idea of what Im doing...I know memtest is reccomended...but I cant ever get a ****** floppy to work so I dont know how else to run it. Ive tried looking up guides...but theyre all written in some crazy l33t lingo that I cant understand and none of what theyre saying is showing in my bios. "All you need to know is httxhtxltd=FSBx.95=FID so set ht to less than htt times fdt to get max fsb which is what you want so you can OC. But with RAM in your divider you can low latency with Vcore+DIMM times the BSOD!" What the ****** did that just say? LOLz Im like what?

So...anyone got the Foxconn 6150K8MA so they can tell me whats up? Or just someone who can explain a little better what to do and where to go and what to start with ect.

Computer specs:
Foxconn 6150K8MA (video will eventually get upgraded...wich card would best match this system?)
Opteron 146 Thermaltake Venus 7+
1x1GB DDR500 Corsair (may get changed for 2x1GB DDR500 {should I get the G Skill set on sale for 160$?)
Maxtor 250GB 16MB Cache SATA HDD
Thermaltake 430Watt PSU
XP Pro

Right now its running about 38C idle and 47C at 100% max load. System temp is about the same 40C and doesnt change under load. Case is pretty cheesy...no real slots for fans so I cut the front plastic open and installed 2 80MM fans where the floppy drives would usually go. They move air into the case...and the PSU removes it. So heat *may* become an issue. Ill worry about that later if need be.
