Help me OC my 3200+

Ok,

I got the system up and running 10x240 5:6 (forgot the timings). Now, the only way it would work is if the CPU voltage was upped .015...IE somewhere around 1.7 volts. Is that bad for a 754 Newcastle? It shouldn't need that kind of voltage to work though, am I correct?

Thanks.

Hey there I have the same CPU as you, and mine is good for about 2.6 GHz. But I will tell you right now, it was NOT with that Epox board. The Epox was my first board choice (nice and cheap) and it was awful, voltages were totally unstable, and therefore OC was ok one minute and crashing the next. So I traded it in on a DFI Lanparty (which is now only $94 at Newegg right now) and what a difference it made. The DFI does a better overclock at lower vcore.

I really think the board is the cause for your bad overclock and not the CPU.

Hmmm, maybe I'll look into that.

I haven't done any serious gaming after getting it to finally boot @ 2.4ghz so I'm not sure if it's even stable under load.

Thanks for the suggestion.
