I used to spider-sit my brothers tarantula years ago and I lost him in my house. My then girlfriend/now wife spent many nights at my house thinking the spider was locked in his tank. I found him one day crawling up a full wall length mirror in my living room, which looked bizzare as hell. He must have been in the air ducts for about a month. Wifey was none too pleased when i told her it was loose for so long. Hehehehe.

As an aside, I think if people would try to overcome their fear of spiders, they wouldnt get half of the bad rap they get now. I used to like having it sit on my shoulder and hunker down so he could get maximum surface area on my shoulder for warmth. And yes, they do like to be pet.
