I'm running a Shuttle AK35GT/R w/ 1800+ @ 1725mhz/150fsb right now but i'm looking to upgrade again this week.

I'm going with the 2.53B for certain but i'm a bit unsure of the mobo, I wanted 845E (GA-8IEXP) but have changed my tune to Asus P4S8X since it seems to perform well and has 8X AGP, any opinions?

good overclocker?

my goal is to maintain 100% stability like this box and hopefully hit 3ghz

Couple of things first...

Where did you find a review for the asus sis648 chipset mobo??? I think in most of the sis648 mobos I have seen the reviwes show it as a poor ocer so beware...also feature rich mobos like that rarely oc very well with out disabling some of those features...

2.53ghz at current stepping available to the public hitting 3.0ghz???...Well it is your best bet to get to 3ghz in my opinion but the current stepping isn't really hitting it with enough frequency for me to think it is likley atttainable....Good luck though...

Also I see all these ppl always mulling over the Gigabyte boards...Who is giving these things good reviews?...Heck all I see around here lately is ppl with that board having poor ocing results....Why not get a proven winner like epox and asus mobos??? Do you just want features that you can only findon the Gigabyte boards? Asus mobos a bit too expensive?? I woudl look elsewhere but that is just my opinion...

The Abit IT7 MAX2 looks really good

People on the overclockers forum say the IT7-2 is worse than the original IT7, when it comes to overclockability.
