Help me make a decision regarding going to class, or getting some sleep.

So I have been up since 8am yesterday when I woke up for class, so almost 24hrs straight. Due to me working 40hr weeks since school started and moving some of my homework got pushed to the back burner. That was until last night/ this morning when I tried to get it done, I am about 3/4 of the way done. I face a dilemma. I work at 2pm today(Tuesday) I can either

A. Try to finish up the homework and go to class at 9am and get done in time to go to work with no sleep staying awake for a total of 38hrs and then go to sleep when I get off work at 10:30

B. Say screw it, go to sleep now. Don't turn in assignments and don't know whats going on in class on Thursday(if anything might be due). But I get glorious sleep until I go to work at 2pm.

Thanks :)

BTW: We are entering the 3rd week of the term if it matters, so I think if I missed the assignments I might be able to still manage a good grade. But I don't know.

No go. They are already short handed and brought me into a different department to help pick up the slack. Calling in sick would be a bad idea.

Its not actually all done, I still have some reading and question/summary to do. I sort of feel that, what is the point of reading this? Since I'm not actually learning anything I'm just getting the answers I need.

Just hang in there, I rather be tired at work then at class. What is your major ? you might be better off taking some loans... not if you are majoring in Spanish or History.

Well the obvious solution is to sleep in class. Duh. But on the other hand, if you're going to sleep in class, might as well sleep in bed. Worked for me for an entire semester of 8 am physics!

explain your situation to the professor, ask for an extension, promise it won't happen again.

remember they're people too and the majority of them appreciate it when they are talked to about situations of their students. It shows (and you might want to voice this) you want to succeed in his/her class(s) just recently due to moving and work you dropped the ball but would like to make up for it.

Honesty FTW. I've done this and was given a second chance. I've only done it once so it's not like I made a habit of abusing this, but it was nice.

Option C: Do your homework and go to class. Call in work sick and get some sleep. Learn how to prioritize your goals. School should always be first before work. Good luck.

I know a lot of people that work full time and at the same time trying to get their master's degree. Sleep is something you need to compromise.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

My vote/answer: Go to class, sleep in class, feel refreshed in time for work.

Yeah man, thats a tough schedule. I work 40+ and go to law school at night, so I sort of know your pain. But part time law's 11 credits, so probably less than your load.

one of my friends is an architecture student. he stays up 3 or 4 nights in a row when his projects are due every month, and sleeps 2 or 3 hours a night for the 2 weeks before it is due. and he still won't get paid much when he finally graduates.

Suck it up. Finish the HW. Unless you're operating heavy machinery of something at work. If that's the case, screw the HW and just go to sleep.
