Help me lower cpu temp. (not happy with dragonorb3 cooler)

i have a dragon orb 3 cooler running on a xp1600. when the computer starts up and i go into bios it says around 41c then on motherboard monitor it rises from anywhere from 41-46c. i dont know if this is because of my dragonorb3 sucks or its more attributed to using 2.99 heatsink compound i got from iei. if anyone has some as3 laying around and can hook me up ill pay for the shipping or something. i heard alot about nforce2 motherboards posting the wrong temperatures heres my computer specs

xp1700
nf7 motherboard
256mb pc2100
leadtek geforce 4 ti 4400 (only using till wednesday when my built by ati radeon 8500 275/275 gets here)
1 32x max cd rom drive
30.7gb hdd
1.44mb drive

That's ok temperature as3 won't give you that big of a difference.
Your going from a ti-4400 to a 8500 that is slower you know.
