Help me identify what this is on my start menu

I've run NAV 2004 with all updates, also I have the norton firewall. I also ran Spybot and Adaware with all the updates. Neither of those could find anything for this.

I checked the startup on msconfig, that couldn't find it either. When I right click the start menu bar, i go to toolbars and then it's labeled as "Search Assistant"

Mods: I'm getting sick of this problem so I posted in OT, if I don't get a response today, I'll move it into a more appropriate forum even though it may take more time.

Looks alot like the default Windows address bar..can't say for sure what it is though

Just right click, properties and get rid of the search button.

Oh yeah, if I right click the text box, I can choose from 4 search engines. Google, yahoo, msn, and Blazefind are the four choices. I'm willing to bet Blazefind is the bad one, but I have no clue how to use that piece of information

no, i should also mention my quick launch bar always keeps coming back even if i disable it

Run Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware.

Then run HiJackThis!

after removing the search box have you tried checking the "Lock the Taskbar" option. Then restart.

play around with msconfig startup

Use this website as a guide to what entries do what

Look for the following programs in Add/Remove programs:

IE SearchBar
Windows SA
Internet Explorer SearchBar
Windows Search Functions

(And remove if found of course..)

holy, that lock the taskbar thing did it! at first i assumed it wouldn't do an ything new because i had mine always locked! I unlocked it, removed the things, locked it, restarted, fixed it!
