Well...

After searching for some cheap stuff to test out not only S939, but also PCI-E and SLI...I decided to get this NEO4 from work. Ofcourse I got it at cost, and it's completely returnable, but for some reason I'm coming to the same dead end with it for a week now.

I just read on newegg, in a review for the MSI neo4 about not being able to take the FSB over 220. I'm now starting to have questions because I've had an issue w/ no boot after 219 FSB. Does anyone here have any idea why in the world a perfectly good board running a 3000+ @ 1.8ghz stock wouldn't let me get the speed above 1.9ghz. I was easily capable of taking the MSI Neo2 939 board I got at first well above 230 at stock vcore/htt etc.

The only reason I exchanged it was that I got a 6600GT (used) at work in a trade for 100 bucks.

Why in the hell won't this board let myself (and countless others) get the FSB past 219.

From a newegg review of the Platinum/Ultra version of this board, which most here know is not at different from the standard chipset board. A tech at work and I went through the process of modding a NEO4-F board for SLI/SATAII and it worked well. (another reason I bought it)

Good board with lots of features. Doesn't overclock in the BIOS over 119 with my winchester core though.

Stable at stock but don't overclock more than 220Mhz via BIOS. Very good extras however.

I'm running a 3000+ Winchester, 512 Mushkin Enhanced, 350w Antec w/ plenty of cooling in my TT Tsunami Dream and Zalman 7000BCu.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

that's the nforce 4 non-ultra. It uses buggy A1 or A2 silicon, while the ultra and SLI boards use A3 silicon. The problem with the first two revisions involves the HTT speed - it's not stable at 5X (1GHz) so it has to run at 4X (800MHz). Because of this, I'm not surprised the OCing is bad. I'd return it if I were you. If you want a really nice board, the MSI Neo4 Platinum, Asus A8N-E, and DFI Ultra boards are supposedly great, and in the $130-150 range. They will OC way better, plus you get a better hardware firewall and SATA-II. On the budget end, you can get Chaintech's VNF4/Ultra for like $90 at newegg. It's a full fledged ultra, but it doesn't have too many extras like firewire or extra SATA controller, but it's tough to beat at $90. It OCs like a champ, too (see sig) provided you update the bios (the 1.0 bios blows monkey nuts).
