Help me get my Sempron Paris 3100+ to 2.4GHz? But value ram...

This CPU/mobo combo (ECS one from outpost) seems kinda weird.

What is the stock voltage on it (suffix is 3AX)? On AMD's site it says its 1.4v...however +5.1% sets my voltage to 1.58v idle, 1.6v load. Whats up? I heard +10% is the max that is safe if you want the processor to live...but +5.1% seems to be increasing the voltage more than 10%. Hmm...

Other things that I've been wondering...does the 1/2T affect the RAM itself, or is that an IMC function? Reason being I had issues overclocking so I tried 2T and it seemed to go away.

I'm currently at the standard 9*250. To get to 2400, I would need to increase my RAM speed to 218Mhz...seems like a big stretch on a stick of Kingston Vram and some PQI (both 512MB). I've read any value ram can take 2.9v....so if thats so, I guess that could get me to 218mhz? I just really want to be able to say "I've got the equivalent of a 3500+ or a 3400+, etc." So is 2.9v really safe? What timings should I try? I really don't want to fry anything, but if it'll take it, I wanna do it. Thanks.

The default voltage for Paris core Semprons is 1.5v, so 1.58v @ +5.1% is accurate. Following the 10% rule, you could probably go up to 1.65v with no problems.

The 1T/2T rate can affect the stability of the RAM, but 1T is always preferred.

The ECS only overclocks to 250Mhz in the BIOS. You could use a program like ClockgenNF3 to overclock it even higher. You might be able to hit 8x300, although, I don't know if the ECS boards can go that high. If so, then you could use the 2/3 divider, and your RAM wouldn't be OC'ed at all.

Most RAM runs just fine at 2.8-2.9v. I wouldn't go over 2.9v without additional cooling.

Be sure and check out Zebo's A64 Overclocking Guide...also, furballi seems to be fairly knowledgeable about the ECS boards. He's posted a bunch of good information in the ECS/Sempron Hot Deals thread.

Ok great. I've got it at +5.1% and RAM at 2.8. I'm currently priming with the RAM at 218.68Mhz using 751MB. So far looks like I've hit 2.4 Ghz.

About the 1/2T timing....will I notice much of a difference? If I can get 2.8v and 218Mhz I might go for 2.9v with 1T, if the 1/2T affects RAM directly (and not the CPU's memory controller/HTT).

If I can't get directly to 1T, should I adjust my other RAS/CAS/etc timings (which ones first)?
