I'm suspended for fall quarter and I need to submit a form if I want hopes of being allowed to register for fall. The reason is because the last 2 quarter (winter and spring) I didn't get my acumulative GPA back up to over a 2.0 (I failed 4 classes last year because I quit school), but it wasn't really possible because they didn't offer the classes I wanted to retake.

What are some good things to say to help persuade them?

I got a 3.0 for my first quarter back, and retook one of the classes I failed. I did, however, fail a class last quarter...

I'm also currently taking summer classes and doing well.

Failing a class again is going to hurt you.

Try to get a teacher to write you a recommendation.

Someday I'll invent somethign that will save humanity. Can't do that unless I can go back to my local community college first!

If you are failing classes, you need to identify the problem, and find a solution to that problem, while you are on your "vacation" from college. You also need to realize that you are not always going to be able to take the classes that you want to take.

True, but this year I've VASTLY improved and I'm taking a summer class because I failed a class last quarter. I'm taking responsibility, and if I get suspended for fall quarter, I won't be able to fulfill my plan to graduate by next year and get transfered...I'll have to wait another summer and fall quarter. Really pisses me off that they don't want to take my money :)

This is the best advice hands down! My first year of university (taking biological sciences) my gpa was 1.7, I needed to have 2.0 to have funding (loan) I wrote then a later using that exact method was was granted 1 semester extension to bring up my gpa, it worked (but I did switch my major from Science to Commerce) and my gpa has essentially pulled a u-turn

It's kind of hard when you work 35 hours a week and go to school full time.

You definitely need to do a reality check. Working 35 hours a week IS hard while going to school full time.

However, your work load is only going to increase at the University. Either take fewer classes or find a better paying job with less hours. There is no magic wand. Everyone has their own limits and abilities. It sounds like you have learned yours.

Very true, however the reason I work full time right now is because I'm in community college. This grants me the freedom to save for college and not drown myself in loans. I plan to finish community college without taking any loans. I will either stop working or dramatically decrease my work load when I go to a university and live off support from my parents and student loans.

At a community college? We're not talking an engineering degree from MIT here. You've got PLENTY of time after 35 hours a week to not fail.

And you're fvcking yourself over by doing so. How many classes have you failed, 4? 5? On top of that, you usually need at least a C for the credits to transfer over. That's an entire semester right there at the very least. So you're paying double the price, PLUS it makes you look terrible for the colleges you're going to apply to transfer to.

I was at Uni for a year, came home to do my CORE courses at a local CC. Managed to pull off a 4.0 while working 40 hours a week and racking up 29 credits. I was lucky and was able to pull it off. You obviously cannot.

Yeah, i realize I've thrown away a lot of money when I failed classes. But I still won't have a ton of loans to pay off :)

Did you also manage to have a social life? How about a girlfriend? Did you also play guitar in a band? I'll admit I can do better. You should change "cannot" to "did not". But that's always been my life story. I was one of those genius kids who was lazy and lacked ambition, and over the past 10 years or so, it's been a tough habit to break.

LOL. I don't believe in adhd, and I oppose the disabilities act AND affirmative action.
