Last summer I went from 130lbs to 160lbs within a 2-3 month period through workout and a strict, rigorous diet. I was able to do so because I had no school and had plenty of time since I didn't really work during the summer either. But since school started last September, I lost almost all my weight. I'm now at 140lbs, 10 more than the beginning of last summer but 20 less than the end of the summer. I HATE THIS!!! I now have no time to eat or exercise that's why I really need tips on a diet plan that works around my schedule as well as financial status.

Basically I have a bunch of small gaps, enough for a snack but not long enough for a meal. So I really need something quick, easy, yet contains a lot of calories. I'll admit I'm a lazy person so I can't really prepare stuff the night before. I'm looking more into a few calorie drinks around the entire day, eat at least 2 meals, snack a lot, etc. The thing is I need input on what kind of snacks that can help gain weight but don't cost too much. My budget would be to spend around $10 a day for food. And oh yeah, working out isn't important right now. I just want high calorie intake. Here's the breakdown of my free hours. Any help is appreciated.

Hoeboy,

well i'd rather have your problem...and im sure you rather would too if you were in my position. I wouldn't mind mowing down 5-10 thousand calories a day cause i love food (and beer) more than words can express ;)

Hey,

before summer I was down to 155. This is on the frame of a guy who's 6'4." By the end of the summer I was up to 185. I lost ten pounds last quarter, and I've gained it all back this quarter by observing a strict workout/eating program.

The key--i poo you not--is high protein and high carbo, but especially high protein. Not high fat. Steak, peanut butter, cottage cheese, and milk are good. Drink lots of water. Have an extra piece of bread. Eggs are good too. The key is to make time to eat. You can read when the water for your pasta is boiling. It only takes a couple minutes for a steak to cook; same with eggs. Peanut butter and jelly when you have a minute.

If you just eat and don't work out, it'll go to the wrong places. Good lifts are squats (the best), dead lifts, bench, standing rows, shoulder press, pullups, dips (dips are wonderful) and any multi-joint exercize you can do with free weights.

if you go to discovery.com then to discovery health you can find calculators that'll tell you how many calories someone of your height/weight/age/sex will need to consume daily--if you were just sleeping--and you should always try to get in more than that :) (mine is 2100 or so).

I don't know how much you weigh but I prefer to be a bit chubby rather than skinny. I don't think it's fun at all. I just went to the supermarket to pick up some honey cinnamon buns. 360 calories per bun!!! I used to love this stuff as a kid... I wanted to buy a boxful but I don't want to look like an idiot filling it up with my shopping cart ;)

work out is not an option for me at this point. i don't have the motivation or time to be able to do it as routinely as last summer. i don't mind gaining a few extra lbs here and there as long as i don't have a pencil neck and look like a skeleton!

" Be creative. Instead of making sandwiches with bread, use Pop-Tarts. Instead of chewing gum, chew bacon. And remember, if you're not sure about something, rub it against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, it's your window to weight gain. "

And don't forget about the neglected food groups:
1) The whipped group.
2) The congealed group.
3) The choco-tastic.

I think it's good for me to gain some body fat. I mean if I go for a day without eating, I would feel really dizzy and tired meaning I don't have enough fat reserve! GIVE ME FAT!!

You know those fruit pies things they sell for $0.25 at the supermarket. Stock up on those.
