Needing to buy:
CPU: X2 3800? (Just got an extra $100, should i upgrade to 4200?)
Graphics: Any 7800 GT (probably evga)
Mobo: ASUS A8N-SLI Premium

Memory: OCZ PLATINUM 2GB (2x1GB) (Although i heard that OCZ has problems with this mobo? Could someone suggest an = alternative?

PS: ? (i have no idea, maybe Antec TruepowerII TPII-550 or Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V
I heard both those have no problems reaching the mobo with the P180 case.

Storage: Suggestions? ill start with one but will upgrade to more for future video editing.

Suggestions welcome!!

-thanks

CPU: Go with Opteron 16X - overclock better(so easy theres no reason not to) and more cache.
Memory: There is a GSKILL Extreme? 2x1GB im sure someone will like that is very very good memory.
PS: Both have the same stats(Amps and Watts) so go with the cheaper one?
Storage: Raptor + Big PATA

Lose the SLI motherboard, it is just a waste of money. I would suggest getting something like the Epox NF4 board. You are also spending way too much on RAM. There will be no real-world performance difference between value RAM or 'performance' RAM. So just buy the cheapest from a reputable manufacturer.

You are also going overkill with the PSU. Even a quality 350w would be fine, but it is a good idea to get a bit more beefier of a supply to allow for future expansion. I would suggest something like a Fortron AX450-PN.

For storage, it depends on how much space you need. I would suggest the Western Digital drive with 16MB cache though.

With the money saved by following my recommendations above you could get the 4200+ X2.
