I don't know. I did my LED change with the very first production run of the MS Intellimouse with Intellieye. The mouse looked like a regular two button wheel mouse, but it had no ball and had the optical eye instead. I don't know about the newer models. They are covered in red plastic on the bottom, so I don't know if it would work as well.

If I had been able to get the different LED colors to work, I would have started selling the modded mice on the forums and fleabay.

I tried that. It works, but the mouse won't work as well on dark surface.

im doing mine blue, gonna get a 2600mcd blue LED. that should be bright enough right? from radioshack. 468 wavelength i think. it might not work as well as read, but i will sacrafice that if it can still work decently..

but seriously... some girl told me she got a pink hello kitty optical mouse from taiwan... so i am sure its possible to have other colors, besides red.
