finally got rid of my desktop - kinda grew tired of noise from a pair of raptors and also needed the space my desktop set up took up
need a notebook with the following requirement
1. big screen - at least 17 or 18 inches, the bigger the better, don't care about the weight as it will mostly be a desktop replacement
2. cpu for smart money - i don't want to pay premium for top-notched cpu, maybe a notch or two down from it. i don't want cpu that's already becoming obsolite either.
3. i'd like to be able to play need for speed with decent settings and resolution. some 3d capabilities, in other words.
4. something that's not too noisy
5. i'd like to keep my budget under $2k, but since this list is being formulated in the order of importance to me...
