i know very little about cars...

I am just looking for some help.. 🙂

WTF? How can you be old enough to look at buying a car ... especially a classic like that ... and not know jack about them? Don't have a father/older brother/uncle to teach you even the basics?

Thanks for your kind words... 😛

Any time.

Now go buy an old Corolla so you can trash that instead of a piece of vehicular history.

how big is your car budget?

10 - 15 grand
you need to seriously study up on cars built from 1960 - 1971.

You need to know exactly what you are getting into.

Cars with blowers or just radical street cars are not everyday cruisers. You have to be able to handle small repairs and tuning, not to mention not losing control and killing the car, you or others.

Any good links which can provide info for a car n00b like me? Especially about vintage / classic cars?

put a scoop on that and leave the old Muscle cars alone.

Sorry, but if you don't know about them, you don't deserve one. 😛

you could try the forums for various car makers.

here is an example of something that is way out of your league:

you need to choose a manufacturer you like:

Mopar
Ford
GM
AMC

then from there learn about what was available and what you can now get.

I think you should start off with something tame, like a small block musclecar.

Maybe a 340 Dart Swinger, 350 Chevelle or Nova, 302 Mustang/Cougar, 351 Torino/Fairlane, etc.

I will have a Mach1 with a 428 Cobra Jet one day........

That says it all...please just keep the mustang like the rest of the people who are clueless about cars. The new ones come with non-functioning hoods scoops already, or you can tape one on and should be good to go. No need to waste any sort of real classic car with potential on someone who obviously doesn't care enough about them to even learn what a hood scoop is.

Obviously YOU are clueless about cars because the new ones DO NOT come with non-functioning scoops.

Man, thats like telling a beer lover he is clueless about beer if he does not know the ratio of water to hops in Budweiser. Nobody cares about Budweiser(mustangs) because they are a dime a dozen and have no class.

That is nothing like telling a beer lover he is clueless about beer, if he knows what he's talking about....clearly, you don't.

Thanks a lot for the help... I think I need to read up a bit and sharpen my knowledge about vintage / classic cars.

Thanks again for the help.
