Hello ,

I'm looking for a nice sporty car with good horse powers : ) ... well , what I mean , that I don't only look for sporty-looks ;) ... but the money is the problem ... I'm looking for something under $5k ;( ... now I like Acura Integra , Toyota Celica (old one) and some others , but they all are above $5k ... I'm thinking something like '94 or younger , b/c I have '94 car now ...

Edit: forgot to tell , I need something that won't hit my insurance very hard ...

Thanks.

You can pick up a 93-94 Audi if you look around enough. It will probably have high mileage, but if it was taken care of then it will run forever. Its built a lot better than any Japanese car from that year, is pretty fast, and looks really nice.

You might be able to find a MR2 Turbo in ok condition for under 6k (a little over your budget)

200hp on a car that weighs like 2800lbs = fast :D

look for 91-95 if you want to check those out.

Otherwise, under the specifics that you mentioned, your going to have a hard time finding a cheap, cool, sporty car :(

5K can bag you a decent Eclipse/Talon (turbo), a Turbo Dodge in good condidion (175HP/2800lbs depending on the car/model, not bad performance-wise). An MR2 is definitly nice, it's tough finding one for 5k that's turbo'd...

hmm...if that's all you have, don't even bother w/ used performance car.
even if they are under 5k, there might be some unexpected fixes, which might just double the price.

A '94 Nissan Sentra SE-R might do the trick. Could be tough to find one in good condition, though.

And what do you think about these cars :
Civic Del Sol '94-'95
Mazda MX6 '94 (164HP - LS Type)

looked in Sport-Coupes on edmunds , didn't find anything else good ...

93-94 Ford Taurus SHO. Fast, functional, and cheap on the insurance.

What's wrong with a SHO? I've seen many of them, all in great shape. The drivetrain doesn't share much in common with a regular Taurus...

SHO = Super High Output (? I think....), it's a performance version of the Taurus. Has a 24V V6 pushing somewhere around 230 HP (the figure is different between maunual/auto I think).

SHO=Super High Output
The early ones up through 95???? had a Yamaha branded engine and drivetrain under the hood putting out pretty decent HP.

The SHO owns you, i have one :). 4 door car with good performance. It's 220 HP for both the manual(3.0liter) and automatic(3.2liter) before 96 or 97 when they went to v8(like 235 hp i think) and i think they just went automatic, no manual.

Hehe, a SHO would completely toast that del sol in straight line acceleration :)

It would also probably hand the MX-6 it's behind as well.

Sorry - forgot to mention that the stats I gave were for the 1st gen SHO's - I always forget about the new ones when discussing SHO's ;)

NEED something two door and sporty huh? Look at a '95 or '96 Chevy Berreta Z26 w/ the 5 spd. Fairly fast and has twice the torque of a civic :)

Parts are dirt cheap also.
