Okay, try to bear with me while i explain.

I have a cable modem that goes directaly to a 10mbit hub.

I have 2 computers plugged into that hub, both get on the net. I can only have 2 computers get on the net at once due to my ISP.

I have a new fileserver i want to add, But how should i access it, with going through the network, not the isp, from a computer that is connected to the internet?

Can i just get an extra nice for the comp that is gonna access the file server?

thanks

Get a cable/dsl router with a built-in 4 port switch. Connect all three computers to switch ports. The ISP will only see one computer (the router).

Or put an extra NIC in your server, and share the connection that way.

Yup. At this point a router will make your life easier. They don't cost much anymore, either.

Router of some kind, without a doubt.
Possibly put a second NIC in the fileserver and configure that as a router. Connect one card straight to broadband, and the other to the hub and you're away - All the computers can see the fileserver, and access the internet, and adding more computers is as simple as plugging them into the hub.
