1250 to spend😀

now do i go dullie xeons at 2.0 and 512 rdram P4DCE+ mobo

or 2.8 p-4 512mb1066 rdram and GIGABYTE GA-8IHXP

both will need case and power supplies but i'll buy those locally

i want a bigger monitor and could buy one with the single p-4 system but it's out of budget on the dullie

i'll be using the hdd i have already and the 9700 the liteon 40x cdrw and cyberdrive 16x dvd

i have 2 17 inch monitors and 2 15 inch monitors

what do you think?

the P4 2.8 is a good processor, though a bit overpriced. The 2.53 is a better deal, but if you must have the best, that is the best. It's not worth it to go Xeons becuase the regular P4's will have hyperthreading by then end of this year. Plus, most things people run don't even use dual processors. As for memory, RDRAM is dying. DDR-333 performs almost as fast, and it's a lot cheaper. Plus, dual channel DDR-333 should be coming out later this year with a bandwith of around 4.6GB/s with a 533Mhz FSB P4. That beats the crap out of RDRAM and when the 667Mhz FSB for the P4 is out, it will rock.

The best stuff out right now is the P4 2.8 and DDR-333. The DDR-333 will be reused for a long time since Dual challed DDR is coming out so you won't need new RAM. That RAMBUS will be worthless by the end of this year.

true on the processor speeds and i have decided to stay single lol

but if i go 333 then what mobo?man i really love my rdram though

and thanks
