Help me decide...

I'm looking for a new motherboard and I've narrowed my choices down to three different boards. The ABIT KT7A-RAID, the Asus A7V133, or the Iwill KK266-R. All of these boards have their pros and cons, would anyone recomend any of these over the others?

Okay I'll give a list of pro's and cons about the KT7A and the Asus A7V133 (dunno anything at all about the Iwill soI cannot give my opinion about that one ..)

KT7A :
+ Really good if you are into overclocking, very good bios that is totally jumperless many fan headers (5 or 6 if you take Northbridge fan into account) so if you are going to have many fans cooling yer case the KT7A supports them all ...

- Is less stable than the asus (more stable than the average board tho, it got 2 chrashes in the 24hr stresstest of toms hardware (average is 4)


Asus A7V133
+ Is one of the most stable boards there are if all your other hardware is okay then the system you will get with this mobo will be rock-solid...
(Did NOT crash in the 24hr stresstest of toms hardware)

- isnt very good for overclocking (less fan headers .. etc ..)
but you can still do a descent overclock ..

i gotta disagree with boran about the overclocking ability of the sus a7v133
(it is a good overclocking board)

another nice thing about the a7v133 is you wont have any problems running (200) athlons/durons on the 133mhz bus instead of 100mhz bus, iwill kk266 can have problems doing that because fsb is initialized before the multiplier, so a 1.2ghz (200) athlon will need to be able to initialize at 12x133 or 1.6ghz instead of default of 12x100 or 1.2ghz.

if i was looking to buy a kt133a boards i would do so in this order:
asus a7v133
epox 8kta3 (great board and has an isa slot if you need it)
iwill kk266
and lastly the abit board 🙂

I've put together a lot of systems for corprate use. Haven't had any complaints yet. Run Win2k and graphics software.
