Help me decide

I have decided to get a Lenovo notebook but I can't decide between the T or the Z series. I am leaning towards the T because it has a better price point IMO. What do you think?

I have heared that more Z-selections are going to be available, right now they are not selling and they have not exposed all the configurations that they are going to sell.
The T series is awesome, but the Z series contains some extra tweaks here and there make sure that you know if the new additions to the Z-series would make a difference to you or not and in case they do see if they are worth the price.

To be honest I was going to buy a T42 @ 1299, then I compared it to the R50e @ 849 shipped I can put so much money in my pocket if I go with the R50e with the same specs, so I got it and no regrets here for how much money I saved by not getting a T series, but once I graduate
I am planning on getting the best top of the line Thinkpad that IBM has to offer 😉

Ah, I just made this decision! I decided to go for a T42 (again - I'm hoping that the new one that's coming doesn't have the problems that my last one did) over a Z60t for a few - mostly superficial - reasons. The shipping time for the T42 will probably be less, and I prefer the materials used in the T-series to those used in the Z - although there's nothing wrong with CFRP, I have to believe that it's just better when reinforced with titanium, and the magnesium screen lid might be better. I was also put off by the fact that the Z60t has a fan intake on the bottom, while the T42 had... some other way of drawing air into the laptop, which seems more difficult to block. Another bonus of the T42 was that the standard 6-cell doesn't stick out, and there's an option to go up to 9 cells, while the standard battery for the Z60t is a wimpy 4-cell, and the 7-cell battery sticks out. Finally, I thought the Z60t was just ugly in comparison to the T42.

Of course, the Z60t has a lot of advantages to consider. Personally, I think it actually represents a slightly better deal than the T-series, but not a big one.

Personally, I like widescreen lappys (Z series is widescreen right?). They make the lappy look SOOO much smaller. A 14 inch widescreen looks more like a 12 or 13 incher when you carry it around if its widescreen. If its a regular square block, it looks bigger, and phisically, it is harder to carry around on the side of your arm.

Is that before or after tax? If before tax, seems like you can get the similarly spec'd 2686DGU with one of the credit card discounts for about $100 cheaper and get a 2nd 6-cell battery for free. You also get 512MB instead of 256MB for RAM.
