Let me start from the beginning of my night from Hell . . .
I backed up my HD earlier using Norton Ghost 2002 onto 9 CD-Roms. Everything worked fine with the backup. No errors, no problems, etc.
Afterwards, I wanted to give myself some double reassurance that I had everything all backed up nicely, so I was going to ghost my hard drive onto another spare HD I have.
Well, being the total dumb-ass that I am, I got the drive #'s mixed up and I ended up ghosting my spare (blank) HD onto my real HD. So now I'm sitting here in total shock that I just erased everything.
After hyperventallating for a few minutes I calmed down and said, well that's OK, I can just restore the HD from the CD-Rom backup I made earlier.
So, I go to restore from the CD image and everthing is fine . . . until I get to CD #6. It gets about halfway through the CD and stops reading and tells me there's a data error. (Now I'm freaking out) So after futzing around with it to no avail for 2 hours, I reinstalled WinXP and tried copying all the CDs to my HD. They all copy fine except for #6. I keep getting a "Data Error: Cyclic Redundancy Check".
To top it off, Norton Ghost won't let me see ANY of my data unless all the CDs are there so it can re-create the whole image.
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! What can I do to get my PC to read this CD? Or are there any utilities (other then Ghost Explorer) that will let you view a .GHO file? I will be totally screwed if I can't get this HD back.
Please Help!
