I am troubleshooting an issue where a web site crashes Win 98 to the point where it needs a cold boot. Ctrl-Alt-Delete will do nothing. I am trying to recreate the issue. Has anybody here hit on a combination that will make IE crach the PC?

Thanks!

Do you have control of the mouse but anything you do on the keyboard and trying to restart or hit ctrl alt del just makes a beeping sound? If so then it's IE6 I've patched it with every patch they put out for that program and it still happens to me it's a piece of crap regression if you ask me.

The PC is frozen, zero control. The only option I have is to power down. The site works fine on any other OS...

Win98 just doesn't like IE6, and probably vice versa. I stayed with 5.5 on 98SE, but really like IE6 with XP. That's the OS it was made for.

Is your Windows updated fully? Also this "site" your going to, is it a normal site or something involving a bad theme (hacks, cracks etc.)?

Disabling Scripting Host in Windows setup might help. Make sure to update to close the vulnerabilities in Windows and I.E.
