Help me chose my system!

I like the higher resolution of the 17" screen, and I am unsure on the Turion performance, but does the Dual GTX in SLI make up for it?

Playing modern games @ 1920x1200 with a single GPU is not going to be very fun. Dual core does very little for gaming right now; get the Turion and dual 7800GTX's (altho I'm sure the system is a waste in money).

BTW, you shouldn't be buying 7800GTX's right now; the 7900GTX was announced a couple weeks ago.

There will always be something better to wait for. 😉
Thanks for the input.

yup, I agree with fbrdphreak, the dual core does nothing for me in games. Perhaps if you had a heavily multithreaded game, but most are not. I see benefits of the Core Duo while doing development though.

Non-game related I do multitask like a son-of-a-gun (web + music + download + burning + etc). Sometimes even while I'm gaming. (Battleground queue anyone?) Would a duel core help with this kind of stuff?

Yeah on the high res. On my XPS I swapped my old 9300 screen onto it. So my 7800GTX runs at 1440x900 natively. So little need for AA, and can turn everything else up. I think it was probably a wise choice in the long-run if I keep this rig a while.
