personally I wouldn't buy *any* laptop without a good warranty. I went with Dell because I could get a reasonably priced 3 year warranty on the parts. Laptops are designed not to last long. I'm sure everyone knows that all that hardware shoved into a small space is going to cause a lot of heat. Heat causes all sorts of issues, do yourself a favour, get a cooling pad when you buy your laptop and save some time and money on fixing it. Get a good warranty and you'll be fine. buy a factory refurb with a 3 month warranty and don't expect it to be working in a year.

Artek: SO I guess the moral of the story is make sure you get a super warrenty when you get the Dell Laptop. And by the sounds of the budget you are trying to stay in that might be tough.
