asus w3v
need I say more? I have a home pc for games... if I were on the road I really wouldn't be palying anything...except maybe age of wonders...nothing too intense. the screen is very nice, the wireless is tops...and the battery life is supposed to be fairly good. 3 hrs about for one dvd.

powerbook- no games...not really an issue I guess. TIGER!!!, very portable and compact. I could probably play rise of nations on this..and thats about it. battery life sucks though...

it's a hard decision. as far as costs? with SD I can get the powerbook with tax for a little over 1500 shipped. the asus with rebate is 1700.

I'm at a loss here... If I were home Id curl up in bed and watch movie on a laptop...but for games? maybe if I were on a long trip? I dunno.

anyone wanna give pros and cons?

That's exactly my dilemma too, except I'm considering a 15" Powerbook. I sort of have this thing against Apple because they're so yuppie and that's not me and I like games. So I say just compromise and buy both notebooks. That's what I'm gonna do 🙂

Your pro's and cons are basically all pro's & con's for PC vs Apple; lack of software, less widespread support, etc.

For your uses it sounds like the Powebook is a better buy, but as you pointed out the batt life will be less than ideal. If you can live with the batt life and you need to save money, get the Powerbook. If you don't care about saving money, just get the W3V and be very happy 🙂

QFT i get that on mine too... the OP should go for a powerbook also.

Powerbook. Apple is becoming more and more widespread, so if you can deal with apple now, then its only going to get better 🙂

that switch is at least a year away...in adidtion to the x86 OS switch...

anyone have problems with the 12 inch pb wireless? screens are not a HUGE issue.

Hell, I'm even looking at an Ibook.
