Help me choose some wheels..

OK, I'm not going to make any rice jokes. Now that gas prices are going through the roof, keep the Civic. I liked wheel choice #2, but reconsidered when I saw your silver car. Just don't lower your civic, take off the wheel covers and drive it with the black factory wheels until you can afford good rims and tires. <--- That looks like "budget" rice.

Ill sell you some 16" White Motegi MR7's (motegi site).

Mine have less than 3,000 miles on rims and tires, at least 95% tread.

If you don't buy mine, buy some white mr7's anyway, sweetest rims 🙂

No offense, but Motegi MR7's are far from the sweetest rims. They are heavy as hell.

If you want 7 spoke rims, I'd suggest Konig Tantrums.
17" Tantrums will probably weigh less than 16" MR7's.

And if you're looking for really lightweight rims, look for 15" Lenso (Axis) VPD
Extremely strong and lightweight - your puny 1.6 will need as little unsprung weight as possible 😛
They're expensive, but they'll improve acceleration and handling and gas mileage.

I know, I had the hubs off my car only when I washed the car (wanted to clean the them).

The web site will not let you see what they look like on the car????

Go to tirerack.com, dude.

But Tirerack doesn't carry 5zigen.. 😛

They do have SSR Compeitions and Kosei K-1s which I love though.. but the SSRs are like $300+ a wheel.

Those Lensos look quite nice too.

Judging by the side mirrors, that's a Civic DX. Wouldn't it have been wiser to start with an EX in order to get a better suspension and rear disk brakes?

Honestly, I think that unless you've done some massive upgrades on your brakes you should really opt for a less open wheel design. No real point in showing off the stock Civic DX brakes, and it's not like the stock brakes would need the additional airflow from a more open wheel. Honestly, I think that the Civic EX alloys would be a far more handsome choice, check salvage yards and the like, you ought to be able to find a good deal on them.

Yes, it is a DX.

But, I have a rear disc conversion. 🙂

And the 96-00 Civic EX didn't have rear disc brakes or alloys stock, only the SI did. I'm gonna end up painting the side moldings, mirrors, and skirts matching the factory paint as well, as the plastic looks.. ech.

I'm planning on getting a brake upgrade from Wilwood (new rotors, calipers, stainless steal brake lines, etc) in the future as well.

I've already got the suspension pretty much the way I want as well. S/T rear swaybar (22mm)/tiebar, SI front swaybar (26mm) and lower control arms, Koni Yellow shocks, and H&R Sport springs.. unless I ever decide to put money for a full coilover system from JIC, Toda, or Tien..
