Hello AnandTech, I already appreciate the fact you got into my thread.
I'm really lost with choosing hardware, and I AM tech savvy!
You guys are practically my last hope :\

1. What YOUR PC will be used for.
AutoCAD, Excel with a bunch (up to 15) of quite heavy (up to 2 MB) schematics, basically photos (JPEG and shit :)

2. What YOUR budget is
600-800$ (with 2-3 screens

3. What country
Israel. We have the major companies here, although I don't think ordering from abroad is an option, any way give me all you got.

4. IF YOU have a brand preference.
no.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those.
nope.

6 . IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
at Tom's hardware, they said if I'm building my own PC, I should be planning on OCing, what do you think about that?

7. What resolution will you be using?
Also I need; 2, if possible in the budget, 3 monitors, at a normal-good resolution, to work with large schematics.

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
As soon as possible. Not waiting for next gen of any of the parts.

No need for OS, got one already.

I really appreciate every comment you give me. any.

Thank you for reading this post (and hopefully commenting :D),
Daniel.

OK, that's a really low budget to include monitors as well. Do you also need an OS?

You can get three 1600x900 monitors for $90 each, leaving up to $430 for a budget system. That's doable for an office system. If Win7 needs to be included, you should settle for two monitors.

EDIT: Oh crap, you're not in the US. Well, you can try finding a similar deal on a monitor with a resolution that suits you.

I wouldn't suggest getting something that is quite ancient. I suggest getting the 1155 cpu and mobo.

CPU: i7 2600 if you do photo editing or autocad and stuff
i5 2500 will do justice also
GPU: Decent GPU around 130 would be more than good enough
PSU: 650w Corsair (my preference) just if you feel like adding many HDDs and other things

1. I didn't suggest anything ancient
2. How do you fit an i5 in the OP's budget?
3. Why would you need a discrete GPU for office tasks?
4. Why would you need a 650W PSU for an office PC? No, HDD's don't justify it.

Did you actually read anything in this thread...?

forgot to mention that is the budget without the monitors, with them, I get we could go to 850 - 900 dollars.

That simplifies things alot. For $600 you can build an i5 system in the US without relying on situational discounts or mail-in-rebates. Roughly so:

CPU i5-2400 ($190)
Mobo H61/H67 motherboard (with sata6gb/s and usb3.0) ($70-90)
RAM 8GB-16GB DDR3 1333 (depending on need) ($40-75)
HDD 1TB 7200rpm ($80)
SSD 64GB ($90)
Case Basic ATX or microATX case ($40)
PSU 400W ($50) (preferably from antec, corsair, seasonic among a few others)

Totals at $560-$615, of course these are approximates. Hopefully you will be able to find stuff in Israel at a similar price level so that you don't have to back down to an i3 build.

The problem is with Israel that electronics here are highly taxed, resulting in me being *****.
That's mainly the reason I am asking; Do I really need an i5? wouldn't I get by with an i3 for the requirements I specified?

was going to ask about saga6gbs, but then googled it like a pro ;D

also, Is there a need for 8 GB RAM? isn't 4 enough in 95% of the times?

The i3 is no slouch, it can do the tasks you ask. But you would pretty likely benefit from the increased multithreaded performance of an i5.

For running AutoCAD and multitasking I'd make sure to have 8GB. Besides, 8GB tends to be your sweet spot for $/GB. 4GB is worse while 16GB is the same. If you're currently doing the described tasks on a different PC, you can of course check Task Manager to see exactly how much RAM is being used up.

How much do monitors cost in Israel? In the US, "decent" (poor to middling) 22" monitors will $130 each. That's $390 on monitors alone, leaving you with $510 for the machine.

You are probably looking at something similar to what lehtv described, only with an i3 and a discrete GPU (necessary for triple monitor).

I can handle taking only 2 monitors so a discrete GPU is not needed, so I can invest more in other parts.
