I wouldn't get a pit just because of the social stigma. I really want an Amstaff Terrier one day but probably will never get one because neighbors will think it's a pitbull. I've heard rots are stubborn and dumb, but I've found breed-wide generalizations like that are rarely accurate. If I had to pick one of those two I'd say get the rot.
