Hey, guys, I am looking to upgrade my Athlon XP 1.0 GHz and I searched on PriceWatch for CPU/motherboard combos under $200 (no Celerons, Opterons or Semprons) and came up with the following choices:
(A) Pentium D 820 2.8 GHz ($195 for CPU/motherboard combo)
(B) Pentium 4 630 3.0 GHz ($185 for CPU/motherboard combo)
(C) Pentium 4 530 3.0 GHz ($190 for CPU/motherboard combo)
(D) Pentium 4 Prescott 3.2 GHz ($195 for CPU/motherboard combo)
(E) Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4 GHz ($184 for CPU/motherboard combo)
What would be your #1, 2 and 3 choices among these? Or can you recommend something better that could be had (remember it's a combo) for less than $200? I also will be picking these combos only if they come with a motherboard that supports DDR2 and has at least 3 legacy PCI slots.
I am not looking to overclock or anything like that.
Thanks in avance for your feedback!
