I'm sorry but if your going to criticize AMD by saying their processors run hot but apparently you need to pick up a Netburst based Presscot or even a Q6600.
My AMD 4000+ has been running just fine for over 3 years in a house that has no air-conditioning the hottest it's ever been was 42C when their was a small heatwave where the temperature was around 92F on the inside of the house. Granted I'm using a aftermarket heatsink but it wasn't for better cooling it was cause I haver never liked stock cooling solutions whether its AMD or Intel.
By that post you sound more like a <insert six letter f word here>
im sorry if your going to dogg a C2D then you need to relook at his situation.
If i had to start out fresh, theres no fat chance in hell i would recomend any AMD to anyone.
Why? because the C2D is FASTER per clock, more power efficent.
That AMD running at 2.6 will get BLOWN away by a C2D 2.2ghz.
Dont look at AMD. The company is in big touble, barcelona wont compare JACK on desktop application, and market. The only good it does is in backroom servers on there opty line.
Get a E4400 or a E6600. And watch it pwn the AMD.
