I'm in somewhat of a dillemna, im' about to purchase a new mobo and cpu to replace the existing one. (As show in the My Rig link in my sig).
I'm thinking of getting the 1ghz Duron (Morgan core) and a ECS K7S5A. Now, i'm trying to decide between these heatsinks

1) Retail AMD HEatsink
2) Alpha Pal 6035 w/ THermaltake, Delta (preferably not, too noisy i'm afraid), or YS Tech
3) ALpha Pep 66T w/ one of the above fans.
4) Some sort of Thermaltake Volcano heatsink. If so, which one?

Now, those choices are pretty narrow, but i'm working on a very tight budget. Only about $30 CDN to spend on a heatsink and i need to be able to get it locally. I got these choices from a local store (www.canadacomputers.com). SO if you can help me pick out one, that'd be great. Im' leaning towards the Pal 6035 w/ a Thermaltake fan.

If you don't plan on overclocking, no reason to spend $$$ on a higher-end heatsink. Just buy the retail AMD package and the retail AMD HSF setup will do fine. Don't expect much from it for overclocking, though, because it performs as well as it's designed to do - cool at base clock speed. If you're planning on doing a bit of OCing, go with the 6035...most people I've talked to have liked it a lot.

For the extra $30 or so spent on a better HSF, you can invest that $30 into maybe a higher clocked Duron or maybe a Thunderbird.
