My current piece of junk desk is on its last legs and it needs to be replaced. I would like to have room for 2-3 desktops.... Any recommendations?

Pictures of desk setups would be appreciated!

If you live near an IKEA go check out thier desks. I have Jerker Desk and love it, very sturdy and quite large, i have my printer, a 17 in monitor and a 19 in tv with a vcr and a cable box on it.

I got an Osullivan desk at Best Buy a couple months ago. It's by far the best desk I've ever used.

It must be hard to work on leaning over on it's side and all. Tough to work on a desk with only one leg.

Sorry... I couldn't resist.

If you have a Sam's nearby checkout their big workstation setups if you have the room for the giganto-huge U-shaped sets. I bought one several years ago and it is a great value. Not real wood, but that doesn't matter to me b/c it is usually hidden by lots o' crap. ;) They are very functional with lots of surface area and storage, and are reasonably priced.

Stay away from Sauder, mine is buckling under the weight of my monitor (65lbs -- Dell P1110).

I picked up this O'Sullivan desk from Staples, and it's pretty solid. I wish it were about an inch taller (I almost put it up on blocks), but I'm also pretty tall myself. Good price, nice heavy MDF top that won't have issues with large monitors. Lots of space.

If you can find it anywhere but Staples, though, I'd recommend it. They didn't have it at ANY of their stores in my area, and it took them weeks to order it for me (after they screwed up the order TWICE). :disgust:

I couldn't agree more... I bought a Jerker back in 1998... still have it... I have it fully decked on each side with the large moving shelves and two extra top shelves.... The laminate is thick, and the shelves are sturdy shored up with metal tubing under each one.

I have a 19" and 15" on my main monitor shelf, two towers on the lower left swinging shelf, my Shuttle XPC sits above the monitors on one of the top shelves. My ThinkPad sits on the pull out shelf on the left side. My fax sits just to the right on the swing shelf there and I have a 13" tv/vcr on the top right swinging shelf. -->Soon to be 14" tv with a separate DVD/VCR.

Oh... and a Dacal 150 cd library. :)

Seriously.... The extra dough was worth it for this desk. There are no cubby holes of cabinets/hutch to hide stuff, but I kinda like that industrial design of it. I probably have $300 to $350 in this desk and I suspect I'll have it many more years -->it's that durable.

Ikea doesn't sell my model anymore, but they still sell another Jerker model - I like mine better.

If you are familiar with Anthro carts ( www.anthro.com ) then you get an idea what this Jerker is like - however the jerker only costs 1/10th or less than that of an Anthro though the anthro is by far stronger and a different animal altogether.
