I'm currently running a GF2 GTS 32MB DDR and i'm looking for a new card. I'm on a budget so I'm looking for a good cheap card to boost my performance. It seems to be between the GF4 MX or one of the slightly older Radeons (7500 or 8500LE). Which card would you suggest?

Yup, the GF4MX would just be slightly faster than your GF2 GTS, with added memory, image quality and features. An 8500LE would be better, or if you wanna stick to nvidia, a GF3 Ti200.

Speaking of the 8500, is there anything bad about getting a "powered by ATI" card rather than an official ATI card?

Most of the 8500LE cards still for sale probably are 'powered by ati' cards. Better get one now, since they are about to rename them to 9100, and sell them for a higher amount.

The 8500 and the 9000 Pro will give you a pretty significant upgrade to what you have now. Get the 128 mb 9000 pro if you get that.
