Help me cheat in this work step challenge

So we have this step challenge at work. I want to win. We use some MoveSpring app, that ties into Google Fit to measure your steps. Well, I figured out that I can just hold my phone and move it back and forth and it racks up a lot of steps. But obviously I do not want to spend the whole day moving the phone back and forth. So I want to get something or otherwise figure out some way to get it moving constantly. Any ideas? I have some water pumps, I was thinking of putting my phone into something water tight that floats, putting that float thing in a shallow tub of water, then put in the water pump right at the surface of the water so that it keeps pumping the water out from the surface, moving the phone around and around and around the tub over and over again, racking up points all day while I do nothing.

Any thoughts appreciated!!!

I would bet that an oscillating fan would work. Just turn the mechanism sideways, attach your phone to it, and watch it bounce up and down for hours on end.

Lot of trolls all up in this thread. Bump for any serious thoughts. The paint shaker one is a good one but I assume those cost some real $$$ and I'd have to go buy the darned big, heavy thing, my phone on raft in bathtub with water pump pushing it all over the tub is so quick, easy and cheap...

strap it to your wheel near the hub and go for a drive.

or build your own phone shaker, pretty easy, one motor and a reciprocating mechanism like the ones on steam engine.

That won't work, it can tell you are in your car because you are going too fast, won't count those steps. Plus, I'd have to be driving to do that, I'm trying to rack up the steps without doing a damned thing, its too hot outside lol.

your car has ac. and there is no reason to drive fast... just idle along on residential street.

I could do that probably, but again, I'm looking to rack up steps while I do NOTHING (I want to be doing completely different things that do not take up my time).

Put your car in your garage, put the front end on jack stands, attach your phone to the wheel, and put just enough weight on the gas pedal to make it think it's going 3-4MPH.

That sounds like it would work lol. Probably more trouble than my water pump plan however. Expecially because I don't have jackstands! Thank you though!!!

Treadmill you basically stand in one place while floor under you moves no? You have to move horizontally materially to have steps registered.
