Instead of going for a "dorky-because-he's-unattractive" persona for the dude, why don't you just make it so that he's just a "good-looking-but-shy/socially-inept" type persona?

I'm going for a working class joe look not really a social misfit.. I want him to be handsome but introverted.. In other words, he could get this girl- that's the irony.. Instead her dreams about her and looks in the personals section

Awesome suggestion! I swear, one of them looks like christina ricci... As for the guys- I think the guy sitting back in his chair would work PERFECTLY. the first guy is cool too...

Of course I'll post the finished product (one i get it transferred from 16mm to video)

And that Leann, that others have pointed out already.

You obviosly have to chose people of different physical size (if she's taller, it's perfect)

Those glamour shots really gussy girls up, in RL she will be hot but not uber hot. and the way you dress her up i think she can pull it off well with either one of the guys, i think the second guy would work well with her.

 
I would go with the sax guy, he looks perfect. I'm going to go ahead and disagree with popular opinion here and say that leann just doesn't have much sparkle. She's attractive, but she seems boring to me (especially for a slient flick). My pick for the female lead is "untitled 6". She's not insanely hot, but she has a touch of mystery in her expression.

I think the guys here like Leann because she looks southern.. I agree, untitled 6 looks much more interesting and "deep" with a hint of ethnicity thrown in...hmm.. still thinking though
