help me buy new tires

2000 accord lx v6 i made a post along time ago abotu how the dealership screwed me over and ruined a perfectly good set of tires in a botched rotation and accidental destroying of a tire which has left me with front l/r tires that are worned badly rear left kumho tire with 3k miles and one bridgestone that came with the car almost like the front tires.i want to cut my loses and just get all 4 new tires and i wish i could do something about the screwed up metal rim around the plastic hubcaps my car hit the curb once when my uncle tried to park it.I drive very agressively and do alot of highway driving.I want a good set of tires where i can take a corner with total controll around town.

wellerdball, when I had a car, I used BFGR tires w/o any issues at all, cheaper than GY and they weren't as sticky, meaning that they weren't that prone to pick up nails, hope this helps

Tire Rack is a quality place to shop, but you are probably better off shopping at your local Discount Tire since they price match and offer stellar service.

A friend of mine in Detroit with a similar car and similar driving habits loved his Pirelli mud tires believe it or not. Can't tell you which model, but the brand is good. I have a larger car and use z-rated Hoosiers.

I have the exact same car as yours except that mine is a 98. I bought new set of tires about 4 months ago..I didnt like the stock tires (bridgestone turanza I believe), it didn't have much grip..too easy to slide around. So when I changed it I went for Potenza 950. So far the tires have been great! L.A. has been raining these couple days and the tires perform like it was dry. Maybe you can try some Toyo tires, I heard they are pretty good too.

Hey, try Nitto tires I use them on my 98 Prelude and they stick like glue.

go for some low profile tires. After i get the rims i've been wanting for a long time for my jag (i want the wheels off a jaguar XKR), i'm throwing some lo-pros on there. BUT as for my contribution: I have a set of Kumhos on my explorer...they didn't last very long. They are beyond bald right now, and despite their low price, i dunno if i'll buy them again.
