help me build my friend a $400 comptuer

I have a friend who wants me to build him a new computer. I can't get him to buy stuff online though. He is only willing to buy products from Frys since he can get something replaced faster. He has a budget of $400 including mouse, keyboard but not the monitor. I am usually an Intel guy, but for this budget, I think an amd cpu will suit it better. I'm not sure though. Anyways, give me some suggestions on what to get.

how about some sunday-ad eMachines or HP/compaq box. Junky and not expandable but he can get it replaced faster

Do you have a link to the pc? He would perfer it to be expanadble so he can upgrade parts of his comptuer when he gets the $

I'd reccomend going to Fry's and just talking with someone there if they do that, or if they just sell and don't reccomend, thats another story.

I'd reccomend an Epox 8RDA motherboard, 512MB DDR PC2700 RAM, upto a $100 video card, any case, and the best cpu that can then fit in the price range.

Go with that, or even a dell is good.
