I am currently running a dual monitor setup with two 20" LCDs at 1600x1200 each. I would like to add two more 20" LCDs. My motherboard is a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 which has only one PCI-E x16 slot. Currently, my graphics card is a nVidia GeForce 7600 GS.
I am not a gamer and would just like to run standard business applications/trading software across the four monitors.
The two routes I am considering are:
1. Get a quad capable video card such as nVidia Quadro 440 NVS
2. Get a second PCI video card such as the nVidia Quadro NVS 280 to drive two additional monitors.
Obviously option two is attractive because the costs would be minimal. But I am not sure it would yield adequate performance. If anyone can provide some insight as to whether it would work well, I would appreciate it. Or if there are other reasonable alternatives, those suggestions would be welcome as well.
Thanks in advance.
