Planning on building a new computer. Picked out the parts more or less. I'd appreciate any feedback on what I'm building from people. Anyone have any suggestions before I buy or know of any good deal on what I'm getting. Also, I'm like 95% sure everything should work together fine, it's that 5% unsure that worries me.

Memory (getting just one stick for now)

Video Card (doing the combo with the motherboard that's listed)

Motherboard (in case for some reason the combo doesn't show up)

I'm way out of touch with computer hardware, so for those that know this stuff good, I appreciate the feedback.

For reference I'm currently running a Athlon xp 1500 (1.33gHz), 512 mb PC2100 DDR, Geforce 4 TI 4200 video card 128 mb. Only thing I'm keeping from the current system is the dvd-r, it's only a year old anyway. So I need to upgrade. Thanks for any help you guys wanna give.

Looks like a nice upgrade, except for the case with included power supply (which will probably not last that long with what you're putting in there). Try and stretch your budget a little and get a nice case without a power supply and spend $80-$100 on a nice Seasonic or Fortron. (I'm currently using a Rosewill 500 watt power supply and am having problems overclocking because of the fluctuating voltages under load, please don't make the mistake I did).
Edit- This is the sort of power supply you'd actually want to run a high-end system off of.

Just don't use the generic POS PSU that comes with the case, and everything else looks fine. 480w psu with only 17A on the 12v rail?? My 350w enermax had 26A on the 12v rail, and the 12v rail is what modern PC's rely on the most..

Looks nice, but don't even spend that much on the Fortron... Buy yourself an Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W for $ 22 less... It should be even better, and will have no problems of running your system, even when overclocking it heavily...

Well I was gonna say that your not gonna need such crazy thing as a 500W powersuply.. but if your thinking about SLI GF7800.. well than u might need it.

-But I think if you go with a mid range forton you should be fine. something around 400W (as loong as its a good brand) WILL be fine for your setup. Dont waste your money on 500W.

Edit: just pay atention to the Amps on the 12V rails thats important..

What about either of these two? Trying to save myself a little money. And was taking your suggestion to mind.

I was thinking of just hoping the stock power supply runs fine, then I remembered that my last experiment in that ended with the power supply throwing sparks and catching fire after 11 months of use.

Personally, I would go with a Seasonic PSU and a Zalman CPU fan, quite-ness is key to new rigs if you have that much money, otherwise it may end up sounding like an old refridgerator
