Help me build a i7 Gaming PC!!

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Mostly Games. Want to use Intel I7, SLI/Crossfire (definitely 2 for now, maybe 3 in the future), 6GB+ memory. maybe water-cooled? Want a fast HDD for the OS (velociRaptor?) and do not need a storage drive (will be reusing).

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

Want to spend no more than $2000 shipped

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

All parts will be purchased online. Live in US.

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, Speaker, Storage HDD, and Sound Card.

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

I haven't been keeping up to date on the best bang for your buck items, so I am very out of the loop and need everyones inputs on what to build.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

Yes overclocking.

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?

Want to build this within the next month.

All that should be right around $2000 shipped

If you want water cooling... I'm guessing that would add an additional $400? To stay under the $2000 you could drop down to a Core i7 920 and get liquid cooling. Probably better that way.

If you want a nice air cooler on your i7 940 instead add on about $50-75
 
Why not simply take the time to read the other 359 "Help me build a Core i7 rig" threads? :roll:
If your build is a month away, things will change anyway.
 
Thanks. What I meant in timeframe was building in within a month. so that could be now or could be 3 weeks from now.
 
If you're overclocking then I wouldn't waste $200 on the i7 940, just get the 920 instead, they overclock virtually the same.

+1 to that
i see no point in the 200 bucks extra or the 700 bucks extra on the 940 and 965

 
Makes even less difference on the clock speeds if this is meant to be a gaming rig, also where's the usual "better to build mid-level now and keep upgrading instead of all out splurge" people?
