Help me build a computer

I want it for gaming... and "fun". I miss the days where I used to overclock my computer and putting them together.

It doesn't have to be the best, but it should be better than my current system:

E1705 (laptop)
Duo Core 1.83mhz
GeForce 7800 o/c 375/900
60GB 7200 RPM
2GB RAM

Aimster, what if any parts do you already have? The gaming build in the budget guide might be a good place to start, but if you already have any parts (monitor, os, drives...) then you have a lot more options in your budget then if you need everything.

As someone else said, it would help to have a few more details. For example, do you already have a copy of whatever operating system you plan to use, or does that have to fit into your budget as well?
