Hi
I finally got my monitor after about too many weeks of agony trying to decide. In fact, this is the 2d one, bc the first one came with a tiny scratch on the screen. (Now amazon doens't have any more of these :)- and that's where my GCs are to, so going to Onvia and getting a Samsung isn't an option).

But both monitors have an area on the middle/lower right side where there's slight fuzziness compared to the left side - it's very very slight, but...

I can't believe it would happen in the same area on both (would it?), so I'm wondering if my settings and all are ok. This is what I know:

NEC Accusync 95F
I have a Voodoo 3 3000 PCI - been in for a week.
1024x 768@100 Mz
What else can I do? I don't understand terms like moire, etc. I degaussed and no change.
The only thing next to it on that side is an inkjet printer about 6 inches away.
(would a non- amplified speaker affect it if it was 3 inches away? [I knowwww, but they're ok])

??
Thanks!

Have you tried moving the computer to another location in the building/house/apartment? It could in theory be the speaker, most should be shielded. It could also be unshielded wires or the like.

Moire.. I think that's just a pattern of concentric circles or waves. I used to have those on my machine till I got a new video card and/or moved it around.

Have you tried different resolutions? If so does the problem still occur in different res's?

I just tried several res from 1600x1200 to 1024x768. It's fuzzy in all, in the same area. There are no wires on the desk top, but the speaker is now about a foot away, on top of the printer & the speaker wire is now at a diagonal up to it from behind the desk. I could move everything to a different location tmeporarily, but this is pretty much the only place for the setup on a long term basis.

Are there any voodoo settings to tweak- I think it's pretty much at factory settings?

I hope I didn't get 2 lemons!

I just got a new Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91 NF and had a similar problem. What fixed it was a setting called Corner Purity. It maybe called something else on your monitor, but try and find it. On my monitor, there were 4 different settings for this TL(top left), TR(top right), BL(bottom left), and BR(bottom right).

I don't immediately see anything like you mention. I have an email in to their tech support and will ask them if they respond. I reduced the contrast and that helped some, but it still is not equally crisp on the 2 sides (left and right).

I called both 3dfx and NEC and the only thing left to try is to remove the voodoo3 and see if there ia any incompatibility issue. My questions are:
1) is that going to mess me up-- re drivers? I have reenable the onboard Rage video and either uninstall or something the voodoo drivers then put it all back together (mind you, the voodoo install last week was the first of its kind in this house).

2) How likely is it that it would be a compatibility issue bw these 2 products? If it's about a 2% chance, I'm not sure I want to bother.. except I really like this monitor and want to try to find a way keep it. I think it's hard to get 2 monitors that have the exact same problem.

I tried connecting the monitor to an old P100 I have, but it was too hard to try to make a comparison with that old thing.

Thanks
