There have been some posts that skirt around this issue, but I want to find the answer straight up, no wishy washy shiat! Will the Alpha PAL 8045 HS fit on the Abit KR7-RAID?

Also, what fan would you recommend pairing with this mobo and heatsink? I will be running an Athlon XP 1700 or 1800. I am not planning to overclock right now, but in the future I might, so I want the setup to as good as it can be without being too lound. I have heard alot of people recommending the Papst fans for use with this heatsink... what do you think? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Oh, and take note-- I did not ask, "What mobo should I buy?" I already know that many of you prefer the Shuttle KT266A mobo, so it isn't necessary to repeat yourselfs. I only want to know about this mobo and this heatsink. Thanks!
:D :D :D

I believe that the KR7A's predecessor, the KG7A-RAID is on the PAL 8045 approved list. I don't think you'll get a straight answer on compatability until the board is actually released.

which fan should I use with this heatsink? Want good cooling for my Athlon XP 1800, but not too much noise.

well, like i said, there is the panaflo line of fans - very good, quiet fans or, if you can find them, pabst fans are supposed to be really good fans, too. i would place sunon a close third.

i have about 50 fans in my room from 40mm to 250mm and the panaflo are the quietest in respect to their output of any fans ive seen... if you arent overclocking get something quiet... i would also recommend a sunon with a dB below 40... 2cooltek.com has 3... i wouldnt get the whisper, but dont get anything over 40
i have a delta 68cfm that im gonna put on my 8045 whenever my kr7a gets here.... but im gonna be overclocking right off the bat

Koch, are you speaking from experience? Was it difficult to install? Does it come close to bumping up against your powersupply? LEt me know... I am planning to go with this deal.
