Did you check the start up folder in the Start menu?

what computer is this and why would matlab start on startup anyway?

Werd. Also do a search for the executable in your registry if you can't find any entries in the startup portion of msconfig.

haha welcome to the world of VT... as a junior in VT, I can tell you, one thing this school does better than teaching is; getting students ripped off...

I am at the university of maryland.

I actually like matlab. As an engineering major i think it does a good job w/ advanced mathematics. Although most comp sci people dont like it...but I dont have anything to do w/ computer in my major.

I checked all the likely places for incidents of it starting up...nothing yet. I will check the registery.

I'm a liberal arts major who decided to try geosystems engineering, and am taking classes for that major, with no future in that field, and with no hot chicks in most of my classes either. I don't enjoy saying that.

yeah...i had to use Matlab for a lot of math classes. I had the same problem with is always running the background and hogging my resources.

But what drew the line was that Matlab made it so that I couldn't use OpenGL in CounterStrike. Needless to say, after I found that out, I promptly deleted Matlab.
