HELP!!! makeboot.exe or help with outlook express

Here is the situation . . . I backed up my outlook express email files (application data/identities/ big long weird number/microsoft/outlook express) under win98 and then reformatted, put win98 on, then upgraded to win2k. When I copy the outlook files back over to the appropriate directory in win2k, outlook express doesn't work.

So two solutions exist:
1. reformat -->install win98 --> get email working --> THEN upgrade to Win2k
2. if somebody knows how to get the email working in win2k, then I won't have to do much

For solution #1, I need makeboot.exe, but I don't have it on the win2k CD I have (I only have the files necessary to install it).

SO PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU KNOW HOW 🙂

Thanks in advance!!!

I kind of did the same thing you did.

I went from Win98 to Win2k, and copied all my old messeges from my 98 install to my Win2k install. My filters all needed re-setup, but other then that it worked great. I only copied the vital folders, (in my case, the files for my engineering college email account and my university email account).

If you still cant get it working, you can download the boot disks and makeboot.exe from www.bootdisks.com (It's linked as the boot disk for NT5)

If you do go that route, you shouldn't have to use the bootdisks, just do an install right from Win98 with the CD
