Don't be an engineer. It's not worth it at all. First of all, there are no girls. None. It seems trivial, but seriously, it f*cking sucks to no end. Do you really want to spend the best 5 years of your life jacking off with other geeks? Forget having any kind of active social life when the rest of your classmates are inactive nerds. And when going to class you gotta get into an elevator full of other geeks, goddamn it smells bad. How the hell can geeks possibly smell so bad, no one breaks a sweat sitting in front of a computer all day.
Also, when you get out, there are no jobs, it's f*cking dead out there right now. The unemployment rate for engineers right now is actually higher than it is for the general population. And I don't want to hear the excuse that it's because the economy is bad, no sh*t. When the economy is good, there are good jobs for everyone, not just engineers.
The market pay really isn't another class above other jobs that require a college degree. And if you decide to be an engineer forever, your salary caps out at just under six figures. That's really no better than many other career paths.
Being an engineer is so overrated.
