CPU test 2 I guess was suppose to be brutal. I havent seen many brake 15 FPS even on monster CPU's.

Your bios information is correct. Maybe a little out of date. Im using 1003.027 . Can you post screens of the menu's CPU-Z gives you? CPU, Memory, and Main Board?

not sure how to post screen on here. not very good with html. so posted on my website (i know that sounds daft! but i use word to make pages!)

click here for CPU-Z screen shots

just dont know what "problem" is though. i know i'm getting decent benchmarks, but STILL not as good as people with more or less identical rigs!

all your help is hugely appreciated!!!

I'm sure the main thing the chipset drivers did was activate agp8x, as this was not running before. just goes to show you how important that little thing is! and as for PCI express? thats 16x isnt it? you COULD reason it it giving you maybe upto 8k-10k points better over a system with no agp/pci multiplier?!!!

i dont know. i didnt set this system up. it was a custom build that my computer shop made, but i gave up with asking them q's. they dont know what they're doing. is this wrong then? having the 11 multiplier?! does this mean it runs faster or slower than it should? i thought the 3200+ ran at 2.2ghz?

It actually runs faster. The normal for a 3200 is 2.0 Ghz.

cool, so its running ok then. i read the specs for the chip, and it said it would run at 2.2ghz, so i just thought that was the norm anyway. Is it worth me updating the bios then? or is it all just a lot of trouble that wont get me anywhere?

Is this just as fast as its ever gonna hit?

Markfw900, you seem to have an a64 setup with the k8vse MoBo, and 1.5Gb ram. is this possible? when i ordered this pc, i had 1.5 in it, but they said it ran unstable, and couldnt access the ram properly. so they took 512Mb stick out. is that because of the chipset drivers werent installed?

well, at the end of the day, you helped get my benchmarks 5000 points higher! and i figure i'll be able to play all the latest games at reasonable speeds. still not sure why the points i get are a few thousand less than others! but nevermind i guess! maybe its the geil memory i have.

thanx for all your help anyway. I'm building a pc for my mate, so i'll remember those chipset drivers!!!
haha!
