I had a 1.2gig Athlon w/ Visiontek GTS-V from newegg. Gaming was beautiful.
Now I just go the 1.7 celey w/ the shuttle AS40GT.
I moved the video card there and Unreal tournament, FIFA 2002, Dunguen Siege, and a few other games have this shooting long triangles that bust out from everywhere, it's not all the time, just certain areas and some dialog and menu choices.

Win2k
Drivers from nvidia.com = 2942
Drivers from VisionTEk = 2942
Older driver from VisionTek = 2813 ?
Directx 8.1 from microsoft
I can't think of anything else that would be the cause of this.

I've tried every setting possible in each game, I've tried various bios settings.

HELP! I wish I can post an image to discribe it..

I will definately check that. It's very possible because I cleaned that it with a q-tip and alcohol last week. The fan might be jammed since then. The thing that puzzled me was that it only happens on certain games, and during some exact moments during a game. Most noticable would be part of the intro in unreal tournament and some menu options.

Thank you for both of your advice, I shall see if it is the cause and update!!

What part did you clean with a Q-Tip and alcohol? I usually use a soft paintbrush or canned air to clean my cards. I don't use the paintbrush on the circuts, just the fan and the HS.

KouklatheCat: I just cleaned the whole fan and around the edges of the sgram. It shouldn't have caused any problems.

Ok, It's not the HSF on the video card. I checked and it works fine. I put in another GTS-V from my brother's computer and it still does the same. I also tried my GF3 Ti200 on it and it still does the same thing.
It's only on certain games, that's the funny part. I understand if it overheated, won't it do it on all the games? I only play graphic intensive games so they all stress the system. I play GTA3 for 4 hours straight and it does give me any wierd long shooting triangles, I quit the game and start unreal, there it is again. I can't figure it out.

Question: I bought a CPU heatsink and fan from SVC for a 2.2 gig pentium 4. I put it on the celey 1.7.
Since this was the first time I put on a williamette core HSF, I wasn't sure why the clips had these arches attached to the clamps. These arches prevented me from pushing the clip far enough to latch, so found out that I could detach them. I took them off and it latches with enough force to hold the HSF down. I don't know if that was a problem, but the cpu temp is around 35-41c in sandrasoft benchmark. highest at 45c

I've got it down to a few possibilities:
***HSF wasn't clipped on right
***Driver issues or direct x 8.1
***Bad Win2k pro copy
***Shitty mobo settings
***Just because it's a celey w/shuttle board LOL!!!
I've decided to clean install XP pro over the win2kpro. Hope this would solve the problem.

I may be able to post some screenshots if I get to it before I bust XP pro on it.
I'll update when I'm done

Good news! Fresh install of XP fixed the problem.
MOST LIKELY:
**Not Driver problem (video)
**Not Video card overheating
**Not CPU HSF causing any overheats
**Not bad win2k copy (corrupt fiels)

MY best guess about the cause might be:
**Might just be win2k compatability problem with my celey/shuttle combo

**Shuttle included some AGP driver software or something on the CD that came with the motherboard. Unfortunatly I installed it before I installed anything else. This may have been the cause of it. Since XP pro is working perfectly, whether it's the cause or not, I find no reason to install this crap

Anybody know if I should also install the via 4in1 drivers? Seems like XP pro is working smoothly. I usually would install all the drivers included in a mobo cd, but since this problem arose, I feel I should be cautious.
Thank all for your time in helping me troubleshoot this!
