i have a large collection of photo that i want to load faster on windows 7 photo viewer. the bitmap photo is about 1.5mb each. when i click next it would take about 4 seconds for the photo to load, its annoying consider i just built this new system. i want to minimize it to about 1- 1.5 second for the photo to show up. specs are below, i am not sure what to do now. will buying a x6 1055 or will buying a ssd as a boot drive help? ty

Windows 7 ultimate
amd x4 630
msi 790fx-gd70
g skill- 1333 4gb
msi 4850 video card
samsung 500 gb 7200rpm (single partition)

Use a different photo viewer?

I use Irfanview on an 1.9GHz Athlon X2 w/ 2GB & a HD3850 + XP and load 3+MB images in less than a second. It loads 100+MB TIFFs in < 2 seconds.

ty, infranview works, but how do i get the thumb nails to load faster. when i open a folder containing high resolution photo, it takes forever to load up all the thumb nails. will upgradeing my cpu to x6 1055 helps?

This should only be a problem the first time you view the folder. After that, the thumbnail cache should make it load faster.
